A message from B4NTR – lol Your Local Broadband Volunteer Group

Your local volunteer group B4NTR, alongside B4RN are working hard to bring the B4RN service to your area. A number of properties in the wider community are already enjoying the benefits of having the B4RN 1000 Mbps broadband service – this is a great opportunity to talk to others and hear what existing customers think of it, and ask questions about how the service works, and how it is different.

As B4RN operates as a Community Benefit Society, projects are funded through a combination of the Government Voucher Scheme, local grants and through investment in B4RN from the communities they work with. The full level of community investment is usually established before a project goes into the build phase.

In Barrasford, working with us local volunteers at B4NTR, B4RN agreed to start build early – but, now that build is well underway, we need to secure the remaining community investment to ensure the full scope of the project is delivered. By investing in B4RN you will not only be helping yourself (waived connection fee*) but also in the long term future of your wider community.

Let’s take our beautiful part of Northumberland from digitally forgotten to digitally future proofed for our and the next generation.

Thank you

Your local B4NTR volunteer group

As a community benefit society, B4RN must operate for the benefit the rural community rather than its shareholders, so surplus funds are reinvested. You do not need to buy shares to take a service from B4RN, but the more people who do, the sooner it will be built. This network model can connect every home in our parishes, however remote or distant from other properties. Without exceptions.

Summary of share offer:

  • Minimum shareholding £100 / maximum £100,000.
  • All shareholders are members of B4RN. One member one vote.
