Last week we had a really positive visit from Barry Forde, the CEO of B4RN and David Ryall who came up to visit us for the afternoon.
Our first meeting was with iNorthumberland who felt they might also be able to help fund the project, hopefully more details will come in the future from their end.
We then had a very constructive meeting with representatives from the Ray Wind Fund Community Interest Company (CIC) who continue to offer support to the project and are now talking directly to B4RN about how they can offer financial support to get the project off the ground.
All in all it was a really encouraging afternoon and was great to meet Barry Forde who started this whole thing off with the creation of B4RN around 8 years ago. He really does embody the ethos of a not for profit community organisation!
What’s outstanding is that this should all add up financially to the project being able to start to build much sooner than anticipated. In fact as soon wayleaves are completed for the major interconnects we could start to build!
The more volunteers we have to spread the load the better! So please do encourage your neighbours to get involved by going to our website and using the contact form or use our Facebook page and contacting us.
We are having a couple of meetings during the second week of November. It would be great if you could attend. These are:
B4NTR Volunteer Planning and Mapping Training – Monday 11th Nov @ 7pm
This is for people interested in helping with mapping the project. Paul has offered to host a training evening at his house near Birtley, on Monday 11th Nov at 7pm.

We’ll go over working with mymaps.google.com as well as working with paper maps and meeting within each of our mapping teams. Attendees will have needed to sign a GDPR form, but all new volunteers are welcome and can sign off on the day if required.
