B4NTR Broadband Project Now Approved – Digging to Start in just WEEKS!
We have just been told that the Barrasford project has now been given the green light by the B4RN management team!  Digging will begin in the next few weeks! This includes Barrasford, Chollerton, Gunnerton, Birtley, Colwell, The Swinburnes, (and any property in between!).

It’s all very exciting and there are sure to be many questions and we will be organising a meeting (probably face to face) in a couple of weeks time with the B4RN build team to go over the exact build process and all of the specific details.

After the good news I have two requests that you may be able to help with:

1. Now that the project has been approved there is still work to be done.  If you are enthusiastic to help with the project and can devote some time to support us please drop us a message via the “contact us” section on the right side (on Desktop) or scroll below (on phones). Or via our Facebook page.

2. Ray Wind Funds CIC has been indispensable in getting the green light and helping move the project forward. They have their public survey coming up very soon on the 17th May, the link is below.  If you have not filled this in already can I request you do so and please emphasise the importance of Broadband locally.  The survey will inform funding from the CIC for the next five years so it’s hugely important for us that Broadband continues to appear as a priority.

It’s took a lot of background volunteer work to bring things to this point and making sure all the plans, permissions and finances etc are in order.

Everything’s in place now to build the whole of the Barrasford project The Kirkwhelpington and Woodburn projects are planned and hopes are they follow on directly on completion of the Barrasford project. Again we’d welcome more help so do please get in touch.

Yellow – Barrasford Project
Blue – Kirkwhelpington Project
Red – Woodburn Project

We’ll be in contact again very soon with all the details.

Kind regards,

Lynne Rawles
Chair of B4NTR (local broadband volunteer group)
