The First Connections have gone live in Great Bavington, part of the Kirkwhelpington Project and is the first project B4RN are teaming up with Nokia to provide hyper-fast, reliable connectivity!
There is a central fibre internet cabinet in Kirkwhelpton village which is the heart of this part of the project and where from all of the house fibre connections fan out. This needs its own internet connection from a similar B4RN Cabinet in Barrasford (about a 30 Km fibre cable run away through our countryside) and Great Bavington is on the way. B4RN were of course making sure the houses along this route were having their home fibre connections put into place so once the cabinet was switched on and able to go live that the houses alone the way would go online too.

The Barrasford Cabinet in turn gets its connection from B4RN central in Melling, Carnforth (in the Lake District) well over 150Km away!
See below the Instagram for a behind-the-scenes view from the day!
Its so amazing to see homes in the area get their still world leadingly fast rural fibre internet connections after so much volunteer work over years and it well deserved!
Other places in the Kirkwhelpton are sure to follow from here!
Congratulations to all!
